When upgrading CA 7 to a new release, can you use the same checkpoint data set (XCKPT) for the cross platform tracker?
Release : 11.3, 12.0, 12.1
Yes, it is recommended that you use the existing XCKPT data set for the XPS Tracker. The XPS Tracker can run as a subtask of CA 7, as a subtask of ICOM or as a standalone started task. Either option requires XCKPT data set to be defined. This data set contains various information including the remote nodes that are used by CA 7 for scheduling work. If you use a new checkpoint data set, this information will be lost unless you copy over the original checkpoint.
We recommend you use the same checkpoint data set.
You can simply rename this data set if you need to change the data set name to match your new naming convention.
