Can we map multiple robots configured with multiple vCenters to a single hub of the UIM v20.4 domain instead of multiple hubs?
Is there any limitation in VMWARE configured robots count that can be mapped to a single hub? If yes, what is the recommended number?

Release : 20.4

Component : UIM - VMWARE

None. This article is informational.

The key parameters of whether a single probe instance can scale up to multiple vCenters depend on the polling period configured, collection time of the probe, and memory usage. If the polling period is greater than the collection time and the memory usage of the probe is under the -Xmx limit, we can vertically scale with a single probe instance. If not, the recommendation is to split the vCenters across multiple probe instances on different robots.

Regarding the mapping of the six robots to the single primary hub, there shouldn't be any impact metric collection. It is better to shift in a phased manner and check the hub queues if there are any bottlenecks. Also, remapping the robots to a single hub may require realigning the origins as appropriate, and ensuring that there is a continuation of QOS data for historical trends.
