Is Oracle Java required by the Information Centric Analytics (ICA) application or the Microsoft SQL Server components hosting the RiskFabric database or cube?
Release : 6.5.4
Component : Oracle Database Client
The ICA application hosted in IIS does not use Java.
Oracle Java is a prerequisite for ICA only if ICA has been integrated with Symantec DLP. The Java Development Kit (JDK) installed by the Oracle Database Client installer is required by the Oracle Client, and the Oracle Client is a prerequisite for integrating ICA with Symantec DLP. Refer to the Symantec DLP Integration section of the Symantec ICA Integration and Solution Accelerator Guide for more information.
ICA is only designed to create the DLP linked server and associated database components using the Oracle Client provider. Consequently, since the Oracle Client is necessary for integration with Symantec DLP, ICA effectively inherits any dependency the Oracle Client has on Java via this integration.
