Regular expressions in content policies do not match attachment file names

Messaging Gateway

Attempting to block messages using a regular expression to match attachment filenames does not work as expected when applied to Body or Attachment content in Messaging Gateway (SMG) content filtering rules.

The message's internal MIME boundaries are treated separately from the content within those boundaries which is the message body and attachment content. SMG can do static file name matches against attachment names, but regular expressions used against the message body are not applied to the MIME boundaries.

This has been raised as an enhancement request with Messaging Gateway product engineering and may be changed in a future release.
