Unable to backup the Data Repository

Issue/Introduction

We are seeing the following error when trying to backup the Data Repository:

Error: Error in VBR config: Errors found in the password file. Error in VBR config: Unable to read config file: /opt/vertica/config/password.txt ([Errno 13] Permission denied: '/opt/vertica/config/password.txt').

All supported releases

Cause

The permissions on either the password.txt file or in the prior directories is not as such that the user running the backup has access to the file.

Resolution

Using the ls -al command, validate the user that is being used has access to the requested file.
