Resolution
Create a Connection Profile Using the Configuration Assistant you can create connection configuration user profiles where you associate alternate user ID and password credentials with a specific configuration. This allows you to have many users authorized for a single connection. The connection profile is associated with the SAP instance System ID and Client and is not tied to a specific application server. You can specify a connection profile to override SAP connection information with the +P or PROFILE=parameter when running sapjob, sapipkg, capchain, or casapvar. See the chapter "Defining and Scheduling SAP Jobs" for more information. To create a connection profile, follow these steps: 1. On Windows platforms select Start, Programs, Computer Associates, Unicenter, Job Management Adapter for SAP, Configuration Assistant to invoke the Unicenter JM Adapter for SAP Configuration Assistant. On UNIX or Linux platforms, enter $SAPDIR/bin/casapjmacfg at the command prompt. See the topic "Adapter GUI Considerations" for more information. The Unicenter JM Adapter for SAP main Configuration Assistant panel displays. 2. Expand the left pane tree-view, select the Connection Profiles folder and click the Add button. The Add Connection Profile dialog appears. 3. Enter a unique name to identify the connection profile then enter the System ID and Client of the SAP instance for which the profile is created. 4. In the User field either select user credentials from the drop-down list box and click OK, or click the button to add a new user. Note: You can create and store multiple user ID and password combinations. See the topic "Create a User Configuration" for more information. If you click the button, the Add User and Password dialog appears. 5. Add the user ID and password and click OK. 6. The new user credentials are added to the specified SAP instance. The new user profile name appears in the left pane tree-view under the Configuration Profiles folder and the parameter values appear in the right pane.
To configure connection parameters for additional SAP application servers, follow these steps: 1. 2. Expand the left pane tree-view and then expand the SAP System Connection Configuration folder. 3. Select the SAP system instance System ID for which you want to add an additional application server connection. 4. Click the Add button. The Add a New Instance dialog appears allowing you to enter the System ID, Host Name, System Number, and Client Number for the application server to which you are configuring a connection. The SAP system instance System ID that you selected in step 3 appears in the System ID field. 5. Enter the following SAP application server information and click OK: ■ System ID, and Host Name for the default SAP application server to which the Adapter connects. ■ SAP system number for the application server associated with the System ID and DNS Host specified. ■ SAP client associated with the SAP application server to which the Adapter connects. 6. A dialog appears allowing you to specify user and connection parameters and enable other features including RFC tracing and load balancing. 7. Enter information for all fields. See the Unicenter JM Adapter for SAP online Configuration Assistant help for details regarding the fields.
8. Click OK or Test to verify the information you entered. If you selected Test, the configuration information is saved and the information is verified. If successful, a confirmation message appears, otherwise an error message appears.
9. When the error is solved, click OK to save the configuration information. The connection is configured for the application server you specified; it is associated with the SAP instance you selected in step 3. The Host Name and application server System Number appear in the left pane tree-view under the target SAP system instance System ID
