I just downloaded the full maintenance for CPT from the site and did a fresh install with all the maintenance, and hit a minor issue with PTF TP10804.
The base install (RECEIVE / APPLY / ACCEPT) RUNS FINE.
The RECEIVE job shows
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10804.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10778.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10786.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD PP10779.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD PP10781.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10787.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10789.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD TP10790.
GIM22701I RECEIVE PROCESSING WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR SYSMOD PP10796.
GIM40001E ** SYSMOD TP10804 HAS ALREADY BEEN FOUND IN THE SMPPTFIN DATA SET THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING PROCESSED.
etc.
and ends with RC=8.
Release : 6.1
Component : CPT
APAR QO42655 contains multiple PTFs
APAR QO42655 from 2003 should contain TP09939 but also includes TP10804.
APAR QO90429 from 2007 correctly contains TP10804.
When full maintenance is RECEIVED after the base install is complete, the SMPRPT in the RECEIVE job shows a long list of PTFs that are already applied/accepted as they are part of the base that includes SP03.
The job shows this because TP09939 is part of the base.
TP09939 NOT RECEIVED PTF ALREADY APPLIED AND ACCEPTED
The SMPOUT shows the GIM40001E for TP10804 as it is attempting to receive the PTF twice.
WORKAROUND:
TP09939 is included in the base install, so APAR QO42655 is not required during maintenance processing. Omit the APAR from the RECEIVE job.
If the RECEIVE job already ran with RC=8 and this is the only error, the APPLY CHECK / APPLY will still run successfully as all PTFs have been RECEIVED.
