CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Network Flow Analysis 21.2.6 to 21.2.10, you may notice that some of your devices may have stopped SNMP polling. This would result in SNMP Refresh / SNMP Discovery failures from the NetOps Portal's Administration: NFA - "Manage Monitoring Page".

This issue would result in Proxies-Wrapper.log messages like this:

INFO   | jvm 1    | 2022/04/28 12:50:09 | java.lang.NullPointerException

Environment

Release : 21.2.6 - 21.2.10

Component : NFA

Cause

This is due to the SNMP v3 Profile having Authentication but no Privacy protocol (AuthNoPriv) configured.

Resolution

  1. If you can, please use a SNMP v3 Profile which uses Authentication and Privacy protocols.
  2. If you can't change the profile, please download the patch for your version from the bottom of this doc and follow the readme instructions to get it installed.

Additional Information

As of now, customers have only reported the issue on versions 21.2.6 and 21.2.8. If a customer needs a patch for 21.2.10, please open a support ticket. This Defect DE535144 will be resolved in NFA 21.2.12.
