Why is the Last Used Date showing a date that is earlier than the Installed Date?

Issue/Introduction

When reviewing Application Metering data in the console you may notice that the Last Used Date is earlier than the Installed Date.  For example, Last Used Date:  5/19/2022 and the Install Date is 5/23/22.  How is this possible?

Cause

Working as designed as this is a result of vendor patching

Resolution

This can happen when a software vendor has releases a security patch and it is applied to an application.  For example, if Microsoft Visio is patched then the inventory data returned may show the security update's Install Date as a more recent date.  This is working as designed and should happen with software has security updates installed.
