Why is the last used date showing a date that is earlier than the installed date?

Issue/Introduction

When reviewing application metering data in the console you may notice that the last used date is earlier than the installed date.  For example, Last Used Date:  5/19/2022 and the Install Date is 5/23/22.  How is this possible?

Resolution

This can happen when the software vendor has received a security patch.  For example, Microsoft Visio.  If the software is patched, the inventory data returned may show the Install Date as a more recent date.  This is working as designed and should happen with software that receives security updates.
