Error CAL2Q0600E DRC=17A7 SPAWN SERVICE UNAVAILABLE in Web Client

Issue/Introduction

 

When attempting to access a CA 7 instance from the CA 7 Web Client you get the following error:

CAL2Q0600E 0833 CCI SPAWN    Error: RC=08,DRC=17A78900,XRC=A7000000,SPAWN SERVICE UNAVAILABLE

 

 

 

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA 7 WORKLOAD AUTOMATION UI

Cause

The highlighted DRC value of 17A7 mean the SPAWNID that the CA7SRVR task passed on the spawn request to ENF is not defined to the ENF SPNPARMS data set.

 

 There are 2 places you can define the SPAWNID.

1- The CA7SRVR task can have a SPAWNID defined and this value will be passed to ENF on the spawn request

2- In the INSTANCE definition in the CA 7 Web Client, you define a COMPONENT CODE. The component code will override the SPAWNID defined to the CA7SRVR task and use the COMPONENT CODE value on the spawn request to ENF

Resolution

If there is a component code defined for the CA 7 instance in the CA 7 Web Client instance definition, this code must be defined to the ENF SPNPARMS data set.

If there isn't a component code defined for the CA 7 instance in the CA 7 Web Client instance definition, check the SPAWNID defined to the CA7SRVR task and make sure that value is defined to the ENF SPNPARMS data set.
