OPS3129S and OPS9503E errors using GLVSHAREDFILE to share OPS global variables among systems?

Issue/Introduction

Why am I getting the error message OPS3129S  followed by the message OPS9503E when using the GLVSHAREDFILE to share OPS/MVS global variables among systems?

The following error messages may appear:

OPS3129S RESERVE FOR FILE DDNAME=OPAMSVDB DSN=prefix.OPAMSVDB TIMED OUT
OPS9503E SENDMG SHARED I/O RESPONSE FAILED, RC=36, DETECTED AT OPSHFIEX+X'0000072A'

 

Environment

OPS/MVS

Resolution

1. GLVSHAREDRLS must be set to YES in OPSVIEW 4.1.1 and in OPSSPA00 to make this permanent.
2. The SVDB shared VSAM file must be managed by SMS and defined with the IDCAMS parameter LOG(NONE).
