Issue/Introduction

This document describes how to prevent CA7 ICOM from issuing a WTOR at startup.

Environment

Release:
Component: 7

Resolution

Add a NOWTOR dd statement to the CA7 ICOM proc to suppress the WTOR.

The WTOR can be suppressed by using a DD statement in the ICOM JCL that has a ddname of NOWTOR

//NOWTOR     DD DUMMY

This only does a WTO and not a WTOR and requires the MODIFY command to communicate with ICOM.

When ICOM initialization is successfully completed, a WTOR is issued to the operating system master console.

CA-7.574 (CA7ICOM) ENTER REQUEST FOR ICOM (CA7x)

Without the WTOR, you can communicate with the CA7 ICOM via a modify command such as /F CA7ICOM,D=STAT.
