Issue/Introduction

We' just finished setting up VNA integration between Spectrum 21.2.8 and VNA 21.2.8.

Discovery ran fine, but we're seeing a lot of java errors in the catalina.out of the oneclick server.

Also, we seem to be missing information under the SDN Manager domain.

The engine config points to the correct domain.

Environment

Release : 21.2

Component : Virtual Network Assurance For CA Spectrum

Cause

In the gateway.log we see Notification persistence exceptions.

2022-05-20 07:53:20,898 ERROR (Thread-1108 (ActiveMQ-client-global-threads)) [NOTIFICATION_PERSISTENCE_SERVICE] NotificationPersistenceService 413 Unable to complete notification persistence action. Reason: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: could not prepare statement , For more details enable the TRACE mode

In VNA  it seems the large messages folder was full or out of sync.

Resolution

1. the OC server is overloaded with CAPC and VNA integrations, 25 webapp clients and SRM.  A new OC was built to test the integration but showed the same problem

2. unsupported plugin version - we see a similar error in this log.

Please ensure the plugin version is supported in VNA or we will have problems.

We document the following:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/virtual-network-assurance/21-2/building/viptela.html

Supported Releases
VNA supports the following Viptela releases:
Viptela 20.3.4 (VNA 21.2.2 or higher)

3.  PTF810 on the spectrum oneclicks  for OC perf problems finally resolved it.

Additional Information

The problem disappeared after enabling debug in VNA so it's unclear if the Spectrum OC patch resolved this or various restarts of Wildfly.
