How to install or upgrade a Rapid Automation Agent

Environment

Release : 9.4

Component : APPLICATIONS MANAGER

Resolution

  1. Download and unzip installation file which should be a jar file (ie InformaticaAgent_deploy_file.jar or BannerAgent_deploy_file.jar)
  2. Move the jar file to your local PC at the directory:

    C:\Users\<your username>\UC4\RA\deploy\

  3. Log into the Applications Manager Java client
  4. Open the Rapid Automation Loader sub-menu found within the Tool's menu
  5. A list of Available Components (jars loaded into deploy directory) on the left and Loaded Components on the right (already installed components and the versions)
  6. If installing a new RA Agent, select the RA Agent component from the Available Component list and you should see the ID value on the bottom left set to a blank value indicating the installation of a new RA Agent.
    or
    If upgrade an existing RA Agent, select the RA Agent component that you want to upgrade from the Available Component list and you should see the ID value on the bottom left set to the same ID value for the Agent you will upgrade in the Loaded Component. Be careful if the ID values are different as this may cause the you to install multiple versions of the same RA Agent.
  7. Click on Apply and Applications Manager will install or upgrade the RA Agent. 
  8. A full restart is required on the RA Agent's Standard Agent to finish the install or upgrade.
