Issue/Introduction

UIM 20.X with Oracle 19c

Problem:

We use alarm enrichment with a custom table in the DMDB data source to enrich Custom alarm attributes and seeing an issue where the Custom attributes is not always enriched. The Custom attribute for the alarm is blank.

Errors in alarm_enrichment log:

alarm_enrichment] CmdbJdbcDataSource: .loadObject(sourcename)encountered a problem while fetching the object using 'select ... from CustomerDB) where id=?':ORA-01012: not logged on

alarm_enrichment] CmdbJdbcDataSource: .loadObject(sourcename) encountered a problem while fetching the object using 'select.. from CustomerDB) where id=?':ORA-02396: exceeded maximum idle time, please connect again

Cause

UIM data_engine oracle user is set to limited IDLE_TIME

Resolution

Alter the UIM Database user with unlimited IDLE_TIME
