Issue/Introduction

The Overall Status field in Modern UX (MUX), despite the returned value is "null" it is shown as "On Track" on tiles and report page.

1. On the Status Report page of the project leave empty the status fields Schedule status (cop_schedule_status), Scope status (cop_scope_status) and Cost and effort status (cop_cost_eft_status)

2. According to calculation of the empty values, the Overall Status = Null and I would expect that it would show the default color of "white", but instead it states it's "On Track" by default.

Environment

Release : 16.0.1, 16.0.2

Cause

This is working as expected. By default in the MUX it's assumed by default that a Status Report is "On Track", if the calculation of the Status Report is Null. This works differently than the Classic UI.

Resolution

Option 1. Leave things as they are and instruct the users to expect this value even for new projects

or

Option 2. Disable the display mappings on Overall Status on Status Report

  1. Go to Objects - Status Report - Attributes
  2. Select Overall Status
  3. At the bottom, remove the Display mappings for all selections (Set them back to Select, including the Default color bucket)
  4. Save

Note: This will remove the badge from the Tiles and also the mappings in Classic UX

or

Option 3. Change the calculation of the attribute Overall Status on Status Report to something that's a negative value and does not fall within the mappings.

This is an example of how would this be done:

This does not remove the badge from all the tiles, so the preferred option would be to remove the Display mappings all together.

Additional Information

The root cause of this issue is similar to the reasoning documented in this document:
