Issue/Introduction

System Status page on CAPC shows that the NFA application is DOWN.

The Watchdog*.log file on the NFA Console machine has errors that look like this:

ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.3(w) Driver]Access denied for user 'harvest'@'<servername>' (using password: YES)
System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException (0x80131937): ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.3(w) Driver]Access denied for user 'harvest'@'<servername>' (using password: YES)

Environment

NFA 2-Tier environment

Cause

Mismatched password for the 'harvest' user between the NFA Console and the NFA Harvesters.

Resolution

The error usually indicates that the 'harvest' database user password saved on the NFA Console machine does not match the 'harvest' password on the Harvester machine itself.

You can set the harvest password on each machine using the "DBPasswordUtils.exe" utility as described in the documentation here:

Configure the MySQL User Password
