Issue/Introduction

We have created HiDRO IPLable tapes before without any problem and we suspect we may have a hardware problem.
What does SENSE code 2400 mean?

Resolution

The x'24' in the first byte of sense indicates Bus_Out_Check+Overrun.

We suggest you try re-initializing the tape. If that doesn't correct the problem, the tape is more than likely no good and needs to be thrown away. If this happens with multiple tapes, it is very likely that the tape drive needs service.
