Error IKJ56241I executing GENREQ command

Issue/Introduction

One of our TSS administrators is executing the following command:

TSS GENREQ(CERTSITE) DIGICERT(CDIRECTU) DCDSN(CERT.CSR.CDIRECTU)

They get the following error:

CAS2090E Data set allocation/OPEN failed

TSS0301I  GENREQ   FUNCTION FAILED, RETURN CODE =  4

and the following in the console log:

  15:26:29  IKJ56241I DATA SET A311KDP.CSR.CDIRECTU NOT ALLOCATED+
  15:26:29  IKJ56241I SPECIFIED UNIT IS UNDEFINED

Is there any way to specify a unit with this command?

Resolution

TSS GENREQ dynamically allocates the dataset for the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) but z/OS is not configured to allow dynamically allocated datasets on volumes.

Contact z/OS systems programmers or storage administrators to allow dynamically allocated datasets on volumes.
