smpolisrv -stats returns "The specified server is not currently running"

Issue/Introduction

Running the stats command as below with an error

smpolicysrv -stats
The specified server is not currently running

When you grep for the process it will show services as up and running

ps -ef |grep policysrv
smusern   2474  2472  0 Mar08 ?        01:00:49 smpolicysrv

Environment

Policy server: All Supported Versions

O/S: RHEL

Resolution

Issue will happen if the pipes files in "/tmp" directory might either be missing or lingering from multiple processes. So, Please restart the policy server process which will create new file pipe files in /tmp folder.
