Issue/Introduction

Symantec VIP Enterprise Gateway Radius Validation servers may not come out of Automatic Business Continuity Mode when the cloud connection is restored.

Environment

VIP Radius with Automatic Business Continuity Mode enabled on Enterprise Gateway 9.9.2 or earlier.

Cause

The VIP Radius may have issues handling the first request coming from the SASMonitor (Health Check Service) after the Radius Validation service comes out of Business Continuity Mode. Due to this issue the Radius reverts back to the BC mode.

Resolution

Broadcom development has created hotfix (attached) to resolve this issue for VIP Enterprise Gateway version 9.9.2

1. Ensure VIP Enterprise Gateway is updated to version 9.9.2 before applying the hotfix
2. Download the attached zip file
3. Extract the contents to a local temp folder on the VIP EGW server and follow the included installation instructions
