Encryption Management Server can be configured to process mail if it is licensed to do so. To enable this, navigate to System / General Settings in the management console and enable the option Enable Mail Proxies:
Generally, this option will be configured once and will not need to be changed.
However, sometimes enabling or disabling this option does not take effect.
Symantec Encryption Management Server 10.5 and above.
After enabling this option, check for the following in the management console under Reporting / Logs / Mail log where 10.1.2.3 is the IP address of the network interface that processes mail:
SMTP-LISTEN-00: SMTP service running on 10.1.2.3:25
After disabling this option, check for the following in the management console under Reporting / Logs / Mail log where 10.1.2.3 is the IP address of the network interface that processes mail:
SMTP-LISTEN-00: SMTP service on 10.1.2.3:25 stopped
If mail is not flowing as expected, navigate to System / General Settings and click on the Restart Services button.
