Issue/Introduction

When Symantec Advanced Machine Learning is enabled the following error is seen:

ICAP Error (icap_error)
an error occured while perfoming an ICAP operation. Uknown error (16:0x0); File nonname; Sub File: ; Vendor: Symantec; Engine version: unknown; Pattern version: Unknown; Pattern data: Unknown
There could be a network problem, the ICAP service may be misconfigured, or the ICAP server may have reported an error.

Cause

Your firewall is most likely blocking access to several domains and the patterns cannot be downloaded.

Resolution

Verify that the firewall permits access to the following destinations:

liveupdate.symantec.com
*.es.bluecoat.com
