How can I update Action Item created from the project?

Issue/Introduction

We have a custom attribute on Action Item. This attribute is editable in the create layout but when I open already created AI all attributes are grey. (I can change only status).

1. Create  a new AI in project -> Collaboration -> Action Item (all attributes are editable)

2. Open the created AI and try to change the "Description" attribute 

Result : Only status of AI can be changed 

Expected: be able to change the value of the attribute

Only Owner or Creator of AI can Edit the Action Item by clicking on the Edit button as described in the screenshot below.
