Issue/Introduction

There are various PTFs for Datacom Server related to JDBC including updating the .JAR files. When connecting via ODBC, should the .JAR files be updated?

Resolution

The Datacom ODBC driver is used in Microsoft windows and is distributed as executable dll files.
JDBC is a Java API used in Linux systems and is distributed as jar files.
The jar files are not used by ODBC so you don't need apply the JDBC PTFs if only using ODBC.
The latest windows ODBC PTF will also include the latest jar files.
