Changing Protected Alias URL in Identity Manager its effects with SSO/Siteminder integration

Issue/Introduction

We are having a new setup that we created for IAM 14.4 and unfortunately, we used the wrong "Protected Alias" name when creating the IM Environment in the Management Console.

We want to change the alias from the Identity Manager management console as we see an option that it is an editable field. We would like to know what may break if this change is done and will integration with Siteminder still keep on working as is if we change the protected alias or if any changes will be required on that side as well?

Resolution

Change the environment alias in the IDM management console, restart the IM environment, and test the new URL.

There should be no need to modify the protected URL within SiteMinder.
