Resolution

The CA 11 SVC has detected a DBAS-associated error from which recovery is being attempted. The type of error is described by the rightmost field that can be one ofthe following:

  • DBAS abend
  • DBAS inactive
  • DBAS I/O task inactive
  • DBAS I/O task in shutdown
  • DBAS request time out
  • DBAS suspended

U11-012 message says that DBAS could not get the record from the  Datacom/AD MUF in the time allowed in the REQTMOUT parameter in the config deck. The U11-012 message is typically related to performance issues or results due to earlier error message(s) that may have occurred in DBAS. Examine the joblog of DBAS and  Datacom/AD MUF for the presence of any earlier error message(s) prior to the U11-012. If there are other error messages present prior the U11-012 messages these should be investigated first as these likely have lead up to the occurrence of the U11-012.

If it appears that the U11-012 is stand alone and not associated with any other previous error message(s), please verify the following:

  • Verify that the dispatching priority/performance group for DBAS and  Datacom/AD MUF are both equal to or just below that of JES.
  • Verify that  Datacom/AD log file has not filled up or had any problems spilling. If the Datacom/AD log file is full it will need to be spilled. If there are problems with the spilling occurring, please investigate any problems that would not allow  Datacom/AD log to spill. Please note that the  Datacom/AD spill job should not have the U11RMS step inserted into it.
  • Verify that CA 11 was not suspended at the time the message occurred as the first jobs through with request to CMT or JEHF will receive the U11-012 message. This is normal since DBAS is suspended and once DBAS is resumed job will continue to process.
  • Ensure that REQTMOUT and CMT DELAY values are adequate in the config file.
REQTMOUT=120 and CMT DELAY=100 are acceptable values.
  • Ensure that you are running at the most current maintenance level of  Workload Automation Restart Option for z/OS Schedulers (CA 11)

As always, please contact Broadcom support for Workload Automation Restart Option for z/OS Schedulers if you have further questions.
