Issue/Introduction

We're trying to install the agent on an AIX server and getting files seems to be corrupted and result in below message

Error

gzip: sfx_archive.tar.gz: not in gzip format

I am sorry, but the installer file seems to be corrupted.

If you downloaded that file please try it again. If you
transfer that file with ftp please make sure that you are
using binary mode.


Cause

The tool used to transfer the file to the Linux/Unix server wrongly selected non-binary mode while transferring the file.

Component : CA RELEASE AUTOMATION AGENT

Operating System: Linux/Unix

Resolution

While transferring file to Unix/Linux server please make sure the Transfer mode is selected as binary instead of automatic/text.

Example below shows configuration changes can be done for WinSCP

  • Navigate to Options -> Preference

  • Within Preferences -> Transfer

  • Edit Default and set Transfer mode to  Binary
