Change the SymantecDLP Log On Service User's Password (Windows)

Issue/Introduction

How can we change the password for the SymantecLDP Log On user assigned to the Symantec DLP services on Enforce?

 

Resolution

On a Windows Enforce Server

1. Stop the Symantec DLP services on the server.
2. Go to Start > Computer Management > Local Users And Groups > Users
3. Right-click the SymantecDLP user > Set Password
   
   
   
   
4. After changing the password, go to Services (services.msc)
5. Sort your services by the "Log On As" column
6. Update the password for each service that is using the SymantecDLP user.
   
   To change the password, right-click > Properties > Log On > Update the password > Apply
   
   
7. Restart the Symantec DLP services. Services are now using the new password.
