Issue/Introduction

Messages CAL2X140W and CAL2X142I issued when starting the CA 7 Cross Platform Tracker.

Environment

Release:
Component: 7

Cause

The Cross Platform Tracker will issue a WTOR if the checkpoint values conflict with the local host.

Resolution

The Cross Platform Tracker task can run as a standalone started task, a subtask of ICOM or a subtask of CA 7. If you receive the following highlighted WTO when starting the "Tracker" task:

CAL2X140W *WARNING* CA-7 XTRK CKPT FILE HOST SYSTEM ID CONFLICT *WARNING*

This means the Tracker has encountered a conflict between the host system ID in the XTRK Checkpoint file and the host system ID of the current environment. The host system ID is made up of the monitor name and the local CAICCI node name and the High Availability Option (HAO) Primary Name. This indicates that either the HAO name, the monitor, or the CAICCI node name has changed, or XTRK has been started using the wrong Checkpoint file.

A common cause is: the Tracker task moved from one LPAR to another and it is using the same checkpoint file and not running in HAO mode. It could also be the case where the Tracker is a different checkpoint file.

Verify if the conflict is ok and if so, reply YES to the accompanying WTOR:

CAL2X142I OVERRIDE THE CA-7 XTRK CKPT FILE SYSTEM ID? (REPLY Y FOR YES, ANY OTHER CHARACTER FOR NO)

If you reply NO, the Tracker task will not initialize. This will not prevent CA 7 or ICOM from starting if the Tracker is running as a subtask.
