Upgrade from 21.2.5 to 21.2.10 Performance Center MySQL will not start

Issue/Introduction

[[email protected] data]$ sudo systemctl start mysql.service
Job for mysql.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mysql.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

MySql install logs indicated the following
2022-05-07T14:43:25.625093Z 0 [ERROR] [MY-010273] [Server] Could not create unix socket lock file /tmp/mysql.sock.lock.

Cause

the permissions on /tmp were too restrictive

Resolution

Set permissions on /tmp

chmod +t /tmp
