Issue/Introduction

There have been issues with the GLOBALBACK* process on some of our systems.  I have made updates and need to redrive the process.   Some modules/components have names that can be used to restart them such as 'F OPSS,RESTART(MSF)'.   Is there one for the global variable backup process?

Resolution

There is not a specific component ID that would allow the Global Variable Backup process to be redriven by issuing a MODIFY OPSS,RESTART command, however the process can be started manually by doing the following:

1. In OPSVIEW go to option =4.1.1 and search for the GLOBALBACKUPPROC parm.  Note the name of the proc being used.

2. In OPSVIEW go to option =6 and enter command "S procname".

The Global Variable Backup proc will start and complete the backup procedure.
