Issue/Introduction

How to restrict a person from executing a program.

Example. Do not allow a person to execute PGM=IEFBR14

Environment

Release : 7.7

Component : PDSMAN for OS/390

Resolution

You use the $ACCESS user= and type=execute to identify the case, and then MODE=P to prevent the access.

$ACCESS USER=userid

TYPE=execute

MODE=P

PDSMAN would issue a message and give rc=4 (mbr not found) to the BLDL.

****PLEASE NOTE ******
Placement of the $ACCESS is critical - it needs to be before other more generic rules.

The PDSM rules are a top down process, rules that come first take precedence of following rules
