TDM - Issue related to TDM Portal login

Issue/Introduction

I failed to log in to TDM Portal using the initial username and password. Even though we gave correct username password details, authentication is failing with an error "Invalid Username/password"

Environment

Release :4.10

Component :TDM Portal

Cause

Go through the startup.log file from TDM portal logs. If you see an error as Illegal argument exception, authentication will fail.

 

FINEST|3068/0|22-04-02 15:07:43|INFO: The host [ARD_TDM_2:8080] is not valid
FINEST|3068/0|22-04-02 15:07:43|java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: The character [_] is never valid in a domain name.

Resolution

Please change the ARD hostname details in application.properties file by removing special characters and then restart the portal service.
