Resolution
A specific time guarantee or estimate is not possible. It varies greatly depending on the DB health, size, node count, resources, etc, etc.
In general most of the upgrade processing is performed during the first DB restart the upgrade cycle performs.
Often the time it takes to stop and restart the DR DB under normal circumstances is a good rough estimate for the expected time for an upgrade to complete.
For example if it takes 15-20 minutes to fully stop and restart a give Data Repository Vertica DB we would recommending 30-45 minutes for the upgrade itself. We'd recommend including a few hours as buffer should something go wrong and require additional troubleshooting before the upgrade is completed.
