QoS policy name change on monitored device and statistics impact in Performance Manager

Issue/Introduction

What to expect at Performance Manager after a name of service-policy applied at a router interface changed; e.g.

current:

interface TenGigabitEthernet0/1/1
service-policy output PM-10G-XXX555

to be changed to:

interface TenGigabitEthernet0/1/1
service-policy output PM-10G-XXX-555

 Would be the previous QoS stats still available?

Environment

Release : 21.2

Component : Vendor Certification

Resolution

If the index AND name (policy in this case) of the attribute changes, we'd create a new component;
which means statistics would reset.

If just the name changes, we should update the name of the existing item and statistics will survive.

Additional Information

Depending on the specific device monitored index will be changed or not when the policy name is modified.
