Issue/Introduction

We have Viptela SDWAN devices that don't report back ifalias (1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18) interface descriptions. The vendor, Cisco, instead is using ifdesc (1.3.6.1.4.1.41916.12.2.1.7). Do we have to tell the vendor to change their mib structure to follow the standard ifalias? Is there anyway to show the interface description data in Spectrum, CAPC, & NFA? Using ifdesc? Or.. Is it required to load up VNA and use the API to fix this issue in Spectrum/CAPC/VNA?

Is there a way around a known Cisco Viptela defect where standard ifAlias OID values are missing but proprietary enterprise specific OID for the Cisco ifDesc OID is available?

This affects the SNMP discovered and managed Viptela devices and virtual systems interface items.
