Issue/Introduction

Procedure for increasing the size of the Queue Dump Data Set with CA 7.

Environment

Release r11.3 only

Resolution

The Queue dump data set temporarily holds the queue data being moved during a DMPQ/MOVQ operation. It must be large enough to hold the contents of all the queue data sets combined (Active, Preprocessing, Prior-Run, Ready, Request, Post processing and Trailer queues).

This data set is referenced by //UCC7QDMP DD in the CA 7 execution JCL.

To enlarge the size of the Queue Dump Data Set, do the following:

  1. Pre-allocate a larger queue dump dataset with a new dataset name.
Note: Make sure it is large enough to hold the contents of the combined queue datasets.
  2. Change the CA 7 started task JCL to point to the new queue dump dataset.
  3. Shut down CA 7 Workload Automation (z1 or z3).
  4. Restart CA 7 Workload Automation with type ERST.
