PAM Client Installation Error

Issue/Introduction

When installing the PAM Client we are getting the following error:

"Unable to execute desired program please get another copy of the installer and try again"

Environment

Release : All supported CA PAM client versions as of November 2023.

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

Windows permission problems

Resolution

When installing any software on a Windows server, Windows requires "Administration Rights".

Please right-click on the PAM Client installation exe and choose "Run as Administrator".

 

Additional Information

Alternatively if you don't have Local Administration rights, Windows has the Group called "Power Users" - who members can install software.
