Issue/Introduction

You need to know the ssh connection idle timeout for connections to the Messaging Gateway (SMG) command line interface (CLI) to ensure that long running commands are not interrupted by the idle connection timeout.

Resolution

SMG does not set a limit on idle ssh connection at the ssh server level. The underlying operating system will terminate idle TCP client connections which are not sending TCP keepalive packets after 7200 seconds (2 hours).
