SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Is there an IDB2 report that will show 24 hours of DB2 Log writing rates?

Environment

Release : 20.0

Component : SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2 for z/OS

Cause

Question

Resolution

The best option is to use IDB2 System history to obtain the information for a 24 hour time frame.

Option 2 system history, then put in your time criteria, then hit pf6 for summary, then option 6 More, then option 4 Log Activity.

The field: Written to active log will show the value for the 24 hour period.

Additional Information

Hitting PF1 (help) on this fields value gives the following information:

The total number of log CI's written.  This value includes CI rewrites and COPY1 and COPY2 active log data set writes.  If a given CI is rewritten five times, this counter is incremented by five. This counter, multiplied by 4KB and divided by the statistics interval in seconds, represents the
number of bytes per second of log data written to the active log data sets.

Note:

There is also the field-function 'rate' that could be used to a modified HSULOG request to perform the rate calculation.
