Issue/Introduction

The following behavior is observed for CA - Office 32Bit - Security IntelliRollup v2203.00 and CA - Office 64Bit - Security IntelliRollup v2203.00:

1. Patch applicable 1 but it installed more patches.
2. Patch duplicates entries in the add/remove programs lists.

Environment

Release : 14.5

Component : CA Patch Manager

Resolution

1. Patch applicable 1 but it installed more patches.

- The rollup doesn't install any extra/other patches except required patch which is detected as part of rollup deployment detector package.
- In this case , word2013-KB5002068 is the required patch and the patch installation is performing on Office 2013 suite application so the patch may update/affect
  common .dll/binary files which are being accessible by other office suite components like excel, powerpoint, outlook etc.
- So other patches which are already installed on the machine, those also got updated with the latest date time stamp in the add/remove section due to .dll/binary files.

- This behavior is by design with Office patches not due to the v2203.00 rollup deployment.
- This behavior is happening in manual installation of patches as well.
