Issue/Introduction

OC Robot deployments install robots using the Fully Qualified Domain Name but we prefer robots with host name (short name) instead.

We understand that this can be mitigated by manually setting the robotname parameter to blank on each robot deployed via OC or by changing the Control probe Robot name setting to "Automatically defect"

Can the robotname parameter in the robot.cfg be configured to blank/NULL on OC Robot deployments so the short name is used?

Resolution

Option 1:  Configure Discovery Server to populate shortnames instead of FQDN as this dictates the robot name in OC Robot deployments

Option 2:  Use Bulk Robot Deployment with an XML File method which provides the ability to manipulate default robot install settings
