Issue/Introduction

IE11 is no longer supported in Clarity 16.0.1 but the option remains in System Options, so it should be expected to work or the option should be removed.

When unchecked, the 'Hide IE11 Not Supported Banner' option does not produce a banner to the end-user.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. On Classic, go to Administration, General Settings: System Options
  2. Ensure the 'Hide IE11 Not Supported Banner' is unchecked
  3. Using Internet Explorer 11, log into Clarity Classic

Expected Results: The option should be removed as it is no longer required.

Actual Results: The option is available and the user is expecting a banner to be displayed, however the banner is NOT displayed.

Example of the banner working in previous releases:

A Toast Message appears - 'Internet Explorer 11 is not supported. For the best experience, use a supported browser.'

Environment

Release : 16.0, 16.0.1, 16.0.2

Cause

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) End-of-Life (EOL) occurred on June 15 2022.
  • It's recommended to inform the users in a communication on using alternate supported browsers such as Edge/Chrome.

Resolution

This is DE64788, fixed in 16.0.3

  • The option 'Hide IE11 Not Supported Banner' will be removed from System Options because it is no longer required.

Workaround: Use supported browsers
