Issue/Introduction

Listing the RBA_FORMAT for the DB2 Tools Product Tablespaces in SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART(tablespace partitions) show several with a 'U' (Unknown since Define NO was used). 

How do these tablespaces get converted to a value of 'E' Extended-10-byte?

Resolution

If the tablespace was created with Define NO, once the table is populated the RBA_FORMAT will go to 'E'  extended 10 byte.
