Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Issue/Introduction

The following error is received when trying to apply maintenance to Vantage (PTF LU03890):

GIM69168E ** HFSCOPY PROCESSING TO THE CCTUZFS2 LIBRARY FAILED FOR JAR VANJREST IN SYSMOD LU03890. THE RETURN CODE (12) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE. DATE 22.096 - TIME 14:54:17 - SEQUENCE NUMBER 000012.

DDDEF for CCTUZFS2 -> '/usr/lpp/CA/Vantage/lib/'

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Cause

The SYSUTx data sets used by SMP/E need to be defined as SEQUENTIAL and not PDS.  In this case SYSUT1 was defined as a PDS data set.

Resolution

The reported problem is caused by having the DDDEF for SYSUT1 defined as a PDS, but Vantage requires this to be a SEQ data set.  This problem can be resolved in a few ways:

1) Update the SYSUTx DDDEFs to be SEQUENTIAL allocations, such as with:

SET      BDY(xxxxxx) .
UCLIN .
REP      DDDEF( SYSUTx )
             SPACE( 999, 999 ) .
ENDUCL .

2) Provide JCL overrides for the SYSUTx data sets with SEQUENTIAL allocations being specified, and not PDS allocations.
