Issue/Introduction

After switching to the ACF2 ALT databases using the F ACF2,SWITCH command, attempted modifications were made to the primaries. The changes to the primaries failed saying the database was in use. Attempting to switch back to the primaries after the modification attempt also failed. What is causing this?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

In a shared database environment the F ACF2,SWITCH command must be executed on all systems sharing the database. Failure to do so results in a database in use error.

To resolve this issue, execute the SWITCH command on all systems sharing the database, make the desired changes to the primaries, and then SWITCH back.
