Error to start IP: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown name value [V144] for enum class [com.idmlogic.sigma.commonserver.types.PORTAL_VERSIONS]

Issue/Introduction

After upgrade IP from 14.2 to 14.4 (Vaap) had some issues and had to rollback to 14.2 to try the upgrade again.

However IP is not starting and having these errors in IP server.log:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown name value [V144] for enum class [com.idmlogic.sigma.commonserver.types.PORTAL_VERSIONS]

 

Environment

Release : 14.4

Component : Identity Portal, Identity Suite

Cause

This problem is caused because was restored the OVA backup done before the upgrade from 14.2 to 14.4 

How the upgrade process updates the IP and other Identity Suites DB's the 14.2 is not starting because is looking entries of 14.4 in DB that does not exist in 14.4.

Resolution

Rollback backup of DB before the upgrade when was in 14.2

After this can start IP.

Additional Information

This procedure is only to use in the upgrade Process in case have any issue during the upgrade process and need rollback. Remember that version 14.2 is EOS since December/21. Please keep your environment updated to the latest version. Version 14.4.1 is the version available in April/2022 when this article was written.
