Issue/Introduction

Archive Manager hanging during shutdown and we see the following in the <SPECROOT>/SS/DDM/ARCHMGR.OUT file.

Stopping CORBA communication...

Environment

Release : All Supported Releases

Component : SPCCSS - Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Resolution

Users can add the following line to the <SPECROOT>/SS/DDM/.configrc file to bypass CORBA shutdown:

bypass_corba_shutdown=true

 

The .configrc file change will only be applied after the Archive Manager is restarted since the file is read at startup.

Additional Information

Note: There are no harmful side effects to have CORBA applications shutdown without permission, however if you are a CORBA App developer you may want to verify that your CORBA apps can handle a shutdown without permission before implementing this solution.
