ACC Update button on package intermittently not presented

Issue/Introduction

ACC Update button on package intermittently not presented. We created a package for a previous version and when saved are not presented with the upgdate option

selecting a different package and then selecting the original one presents the button however on occasion you need to go backwards and forwards between packages many times before the button appears.

Resolution

This is expected behaviour. The determination of whether a package is suitable for update is performed by a background  task and not at the time the package is saved. Therefore they may be a delay in the update button appearing. Once the package is deemed updatable that will remain the case until the package is modified at which point it will need to be reevaluated by the background task.
